This event is organized in remberance of Mel Bassetti. Mel grew up and worked all his life in the Salinas Valley of California. He had businesses that included farming and trucking. He fully
enjoyed his life.
Mel loved his Harleys.
Each bike had its own sound as that was the first thing altered on the bikes.
His most recent purchase was a trike, but unfortunately, he never got to ride it. He rode with his wife, Valerie, usually
as a Sunday outing.
In 1997, Mel was diagnosed
with a rare blood disease. His treatment and care at the Scripps Cancer Center
in La Jolla, California enabled Mel to live with his disease for over 6 years. He will be missed by all.
The King City Young Farmers
are supporting our efforts as a sponsor. This group of young men each knew Mel, worked along side Mel, had really
good times with Mel. We thank you for your support.
